Windows Server: SQL_HANDLE_ENV failed

This guide will assist you how to deal with this error message “SQL_HANDLE_ENV failed” within customer server ie. VPS or Dedicated Server. This typically happen when customer subscribe a VPS with us and installed Plesk on it. Based on this thread, the issue related to Plesk upgrade. The idea is to reinstall the driver handled that service.

Check the driver used

Firstable, check the driver that handled that request. Now search Set up ODBC data sources 64bit and see which driver installed at the moment. Check latest driver installed.

From the list, we could say the latest driver installed is ODBC Driver 17 right? It is likely the driver is causing conflict with another driver that was partially updated due to Plesk updates.

Reinstall ODBC driver

Now we know that Driver ODBC 17 that we need to reinstall, then we can search on google by “reinstall odbc 17” or go to this link instead. Download both of 32bit and 64bit version, and execute them.

NOTE : Choose REPAIR instead of install.
