Fix folder Smartermail [idsmtp1]

This tutorial for hot fix idsmtp1 server due to some kind of sh*t. This time, you just need to play rename and rebuild folder. Don’t need to copy whole grp files (I assume). This tutorial only applied for Exabytes Indonesia customers only.

Check Issue(s)

First thing to do, is check which folder that has issue ie. Deleted Items. For safe reason, make sure you did backup for whole folder.

Example : user [email protected] having issue with folder Deleted Items. Then you need to backup (go to RDP of server) and copy to somewhere else :
C:\SmarterMail\Domains\email.com\Users\marketing\

The issue would be something like this :

Rename Folder

Go to RDP server and locate [email protected] account. Rename folder as something new. ie. Deleted Folder-2.

Rebuild Folder

Now we will need to rebuild folder from webmail interface.

Wait 1-2 seconds until finishied. The notification should be appear on right bottom with green notification.

Until this phase, please take a note DO NOT OPEN PROBLEMATIC FOLDER while impersonating. You will just got looping unlimited view. After you did rebuild folder, refresh again on impersonate session with selected email account. You will see on left side result of rebuilt folder. Yes, it was Deleted Items-2.

Rename Folder

Finally we go to this folder Deleted Items-2 and rename the folder to original one. Make sure your selected selection already pointed to this Deleted Items-2 first. Then, proceed to rename folder.

How to rename? Go to left bottom, and access three dot or three lines below then click Rename Folder :

Make sure you rename to original one. And click Save.

Test It Out

Well done, you did 99% of this process. Good, now we need to test it out. Try to open from impersonated email account (webmail) and click Deleted Items. Here you go this will opened as it-should-be.

After everything is done, don’t forget to remove backup folder you just created.
